  The palm‑fiber compression set tester is applicable for the compression set test of palm‑fiber elastic mattresses used in indoor settings such as homes, guesthouses, hotels and hospitals. It is also applicable to other natural plant‑fiber mattresses.

Working Principle

  Take out the standard specimen from the brown‑fiber elastic mattress as required, place the specimen on the test platform, and apply a vertical load to it at a specific speed via a specified circular cushion block to obtain the height value of the specimen. Based on this value, compress the specimen at a standard proportion using a standard pressure plate until the specified time is reached. Then apply a vertical load to the specimen again at a specific speed with the specified circular cushion block to acquire its height value. The compression set rate of the specimen is calculated by the system.

Instrument Features

1. 【Automated Testing】After the instrument automatically measures thickness, it calculates the operating data related to the selected test items based on the thickness, and automatically completes the test items after replacing the loading plate.


2. 【Three‑level Abnormality Protection】To address potential abnormal conditions during instrument operation, TST has developed three‑level abnormality protection, namely upper‑lower travel limit, fixed displacement and force value protection.

Upper‑lower travel limit — restricts the vertical movement range of the instrument’s upper pressing plate; the instrument will stop for protection once the limit is exceeded.

Fixed displacement — restricts the instrument’s movement range, serving as a supplementary measure to the upper‑lower travel limit.

Force value protection — limits the force‑bearing range of the instrument’s support plate; the instrument will shut down for protection when the force exceeds the set value.


3. 【High‑precision Data】The force‑measuring sensor achieves a maximum accuracy of 1/1000 unit, with a 24‑bit force value resolution, a force value acquisition rate of 500 times per second, and displacement resolution up to 0.001 mm.


4. 【User‑friendly Data Storage】All configuration parameters can be stored for five years without manual modification, and test data can be read via USB.


5. 【Power‑off Protection】Current test data is automatically saved the moment power cuts off. The previous test data can be viewed when power is restored next time.
