TST-C1008 Sponge Indentation Hardness and Compression Tester

The sponge indentation hardness & repeated compression integrated tester is applicable for determining thickness reduction, hardness reduction and fatigue durability of porous elastic materials used for interior decoration. It features full automatic testing, data storage, power off data protection, remote update, one click printing and other functions.

Working Principle

Indentation Hardness Test Method: Measure the force required to produce a specified indentation depth under specified conditions. Place the test specimen between the upper and lower compression platens, then apply compression at a specified speed. As the upper platen compresses the specimen downward, the load cell at the top of the upper platen detects pressure, converts it into a voltage signal for the display unit to analyze, and shows pressure readings on the touch screen for relevant data calculation.

Repeated Compression Test Method: Place a square shaped specimen on the lower platform of the tester. An indenter with a smaller area than the specimen indents the specimen repeatedly. The maximum load is reached within each impact cycle as specified. Evaluate the specimen performance after completing a set number of cycles.

Instrument Features

  1. Automated test (manual adjustment available). Select test items via the setting panel. After the instrument automatically measures thickness, it calculates relevant operating parameters for the selected test item according to thickness and completes the full automatic test procedure.

  2. Supports multiple standard tests. Tests can be performed simply by replacing the compression platen.

  3. Quiet operation

This tester is equipped with well?known brand motor and planetary reducer, as well as branded sensor to guarantee accurate data. The enclosed test chamber reduces operating noise by nearly 70%.

  4. User friendly data storage. All set parameters can be stored for five years without manual modification. Test data can be read via USB or printed with one click printer function (printer is optional, not included in standard configuration).

  5. Three  fold abnormal protection

Limit protection: Restricts the up and down moving range of upper platen. The unit stops for protection once over?range occurs.

Home point protection: Home point positioning function, serving as supplementary measure for upper and lower stroke limits.

Force value protection: Limits the force bearing range of support platen. The instrument stops for protection when exceeding preset force value.

  6. Data protection: Current test data is saved instantly upon power failure. Previous test data can be reviewed when power is restored.

  7. Precision components. To ensure accurate and reliable test results, core components adopt well known domestic and international brands, such as Zemic high precision digital weighing load cell, PMI precision drive lead screw and others.

  8. High precision data. The force sensor achieves maximum accuracy of 1/10000 unit, 24 bit force resolution, 30 times per second force sampling rate, and displacement resolution up to 0.01 mm.

  9. Closed loop microcomputer control. PLC closed loop control is adopted for real time test data feedback.

  10. Long term maintenance & real time update. Irregular software upgrade service is available. Two upgrade options: official remote upgrade and USB upgrade.
