Working Principle

  It is used to determine the horizontal burning performance of small foam plastic specimens with density less than 250kg/m under small flame conditions in laboratory in accordance with ISO 845:1985, and to evaluate the vertical burning performance of rigid foam plastics under laboratory conditions.

Instrument Features

  1. Before operating this equipment, operators shall carefully read the product operation manual, master safety knowledge for flammable gas handling and take adequate safety precautions. Tests can only be performed after confirming no gas leakage.


  2. If gas leakage is detected, stop the test immediately. Do not ignite any flame or switch on power supply. Open doors and windows of equipment and laboratory to vent gas outdoors. For minor leakage, turn on exhaust fan to accelerate removal of flammable gas.


  3. Before opening gas source, turn pressure and flow regulating valves to minimum position first. Then open the main valve of gas cylinder, and slowly adjust gas pressure and flow to required values. Excessively high initial pressure flow may drain all liquid inside U tube and cause gas leakage.


  4. When switching to different gas types, fit corresponding pressure reducing valve and purge residual gas inside gas pipeline to avoid hazards caused by mixing of different gases.


  5. Upon test completion, close gas  cylinder valve first. Keep the Bunsen burner burning until residual gas inside pipeline is fully consumed, then close other valves.


  6. Frequently inspect sealing performance of gas pipelines and joints. Replace aged pipelines promptly to guarantee operational safety.


  7. Lubricate instrument components periodically to prevent jamming caused by insufficient lubrication, which may impair normal operation.
